• WRAMPS

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of work opportunities, family and writing. There were ups and downs, but overall I am so excited for what I hope is to come. I have a list of priorities, that I tried to find an acronym for. I eventually ended up with WRAMPS, so that is how I am going to break down this Blog Post. Writing As you may have read in my last post, I’m in the thick of the 4th draft of a book I started in 2003. I realized it was partially written by a 13-year-old and I was trying too hard to stay true to that…

  • Books, BJJ and a Bday

My first week of February has been pretty busy on getting out there and doing things, but I have been very lazy when it comes to administrative tasks. Lazy probably isn’t the best explanation as to why I’m not getting things done, but nearly coughing out a lung wouldn’t really prevent me from being more productive, it just makes it a lot more tempting to cuddle up with a tea and read a book. Or sleep. I blame dry air, cold temperatures and being the guinea pig for people to learn their BJJ chokes. I skipped out on a few BJJ classes so I wouldn’t contaminate my training pool, but…

  • January 2019

This year started off with me joining in on a lot of new traditions. After having celebrated Christmas with my family, we came back to Toronto to celebrate New Year’s with my boyfriend’s. New Year’s is a big deal in his family, so we went to a dinner/party on the 31st, then spent most of the 1st at his parents’, where friends came over to ring in the New Year. It was a short stay in Toronto before we went back to Montreal for Rikki and Jonathan’s wedding. We decorated the hall and had a little party on Friday before a sleepover, then Saturday was all about hair and makeup…

  • Rabbits and Trolls

On Wednesday I had a scene from Love, where I was Mickey’s roommate, Bertie, who was described to me as weird and eccentric. With this (and my recent Seeking White Female scene) in mind, I forgot that even if you are playing the crazy character, you usually shouldn’t think of yourself as crazy. The trick to nailing those characters is to play them like you’re the most sane person in the room and everyone else is crazy. In this case, Tracy and I ran the scene in the back to figure out the blocking and make sure we had our lines, and then we did it 4 times. I would…

  • A Quarter of a Century!

Couting my age in centuries makes it feel a lot older than it really is. Just because it has the word century in it. In addition to being my birthday, today is also the deadline for my 25 things to do before I turn 25. Here is the final tally: 1.Have an imdb page with a credit 🙂 2.Become a member of ACTRA Although I am not yet a member of ACTRA, I have booked the role that will give me my first ACTRA credit, so the leg work is done, I only need to sign the papers. 3.Replace all high school and CEGEP credits on my CV 🙂 4.…

  • All You Need Is Love <3

Last week I had the honor of being a part of my grandparents’ 55th wedding anniversary party. We spent Friday decorating the hall, then Saturday fixing flowers, rehearsing speeches and getting ready before the party finally happened. It was an opportunity to get the family together for a happy occasion, but it was also pretty amazing to realize that 55 years ago, these two people decided to spend the rest of their lives together, and they still love and are committed to each other to this day. With the rate of successful marriages dropping with each generation, it’s refreshing. And it reminds me that if all else fails, if the…
