Keeping on it ;)
So much is going on these days, a lot of it in my mind, but a goal without a plan is just a dream, right? After my last blog post, I decided to check in on a few things I had previously sent out. Some people kept radio silence, which I assume means the projects/classes are no longer happening, but I did find out that there will be stunt classes this summer, and I got a fitting for 2 days on set as an extra. Sometimes it pays off to keep pestering 😉 By pestering, I just mean checking in on things that were previously set in motion, not actually…

Busy Days and Nights
It feels like I haven’t blogged in forever! And yes, I have been busy, but not only on the acting front. I recently started working for my old employers to help out a new acquisition, which means I currently have less time for artistic endeavours, but it also makes it a lot easier to take classes and advance my career from a financial standpoint. It is temporary, so I should be regaling you with acting news and set tales soon 😉 Although this new job has been keeping me occupied, I did get some fun acting or life events in there. For starters, Rikki and I are officially graduates of…

Trying new things :)
Following my post last week, I headed out to menchies to meet up with Carolyne. It was a birthday/catching up/ career discussing meeting. Of course, with the frequency we are meeting at, we barely scrape the surface, so we are going to have to start meeting more often. Its feels like we just get our most recent news out, say a comment or two and then have to move on or we won’t have time to cover everything. We do, however, cover quite a lot in this way, and I always leave with a million things to think about and consider. After frozen yogurts, Rikki and I went to our…

Easter Adventures :)
Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend 🙂 I finally got my birthday brunch at Chez Cora, and spent lots of time with my family, including an awesome easter egg hunt. Passerbys might have found it odd to see the 8 of us rushing around, reading clues and finding chocolates, especially since the youngest among us were 22, but we wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂 Also, Dark Shack is now on imdb, you can check the page out and give it a like here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3665768/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1 As for last week, on Tuesday Rikki and I went to Dale Carnegie. We had an interesting discussion with some of our classmates about…

An Eventful Birthday Weekend
I have had a very busy birthday weekend, and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂 On Friday night, friends and family came out to watch some gory body horror shorts, all to support me. They did an amazing job, because at the end of the night, Lonely Ninja won Best Film at Mascara & Popcorn’s Body Horror Contest 🙂 Horror and gore may not be my favorite genre, but I had an amazing time filming both shorts, and am so grateful for the opportunity. I met some awesome people and created some genuine, incredible contacts. Looking forward to what comes next 🙂 On Saturday, I filmed a short…

And now I’m 24…
Hey everyone! Today, my age is important, not so much because it is my birthday, but because it means I only have a year left to complete my list of 25 Things To Do Before I Turn 25. Here’s how I am doing on that: 1.Have an imdb page with a credit 🙂 As of a few months ago, I have an imdb page with 2 credits, and I believe more to come. If your haven’t checked it out yet, you can visit: www.imdb.me/amandalynnpetrin 2.Become a member of ACTRA Still working on this one. I have enough background credits to be an ACTRA background perfermer, but then I…

Back for Visions
It’s good to be back. And no, I am not talking about the lovely getaway to Quebec City, but rather the throat/mouth infection that had me out of commission for the past week. Cancelled auditions, work and networking events were not so much fun, but sitting in bed doing nothing did give me a lot of time to think of all the things I really need to work on. Let’s just say I am very anxious to get back to the grind 🙂 Before my throat issues arose, I got to spend time at work with Montreal’s finest. Normally I am the wallflower who listens, maybe puts in a word…

Inspired :)
Another pretty exciting week for me. This is becoming a trend that I would definitely like to keep going 🙂 Before getting into the acting, I just thought I’d mention that I decided not to be a flight attendant. Seeing in the world is definitely way up there on my bucket list, but I will hopefully get to see it while filming movies in exotic locations, and when I take my family on vacations once this whole acting thing works out 😉 As for my two #100days goals, I am slowly but surely making progress. For the agent, I have updated my resume to include the new projects I have…

Decisions, Decisions
I am really bad at making decisions. That isn’t to say that I make bad decisions. It just take me a really long time and I flip flop a lot before finally deciding. And even then, I’m never entirely sure I made the right choice. I mention this because I recently applied for a position as a flight attendant, and now that I have more information about the commitment it entails, I’m not so sure what I want to do anymore. Although the idea of being paid to fly around the world seems like a dream come true, I feel like it might be a step back from any progress…

Just Keep Swimming
This has been a pretty busy week for me. Not even once did I get to stay home all day in my pjs 🙂 I was a standardized patient for 3 days, getting lots of ultrasounds, so many that if ever a doctor was having trouble finding my gall bladder or my IVC, I could direct them right to it. I also know all kinds of medical facts that are slightly making me revert to my teenage dream of becoming a doctor…I’ll be fine once I join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy 😉 On Tuesday, Rikki and I had our first Dale Carnegie class, so we went out for dinner…
