We have a trailer :)
We finally have a little trailer for Dark Shack, the movie I shot in Quebec at the beginning of September! It only features 3 of the characters, but I am one of them, so I figured I should share 🙂 https://vimeo.com/78593762 I still don’t know when my callback is, which scared me at first. I got to thinking that maybe they had cast someone else and didn’t want to tell me, but then I ran into an actor from M is for Mien, who has already been cast on the project, and informed me that he will be reading his part for the callbacks, so they haven’t happened yet. I…

My First Callback !
Hope everyone is enjoying their Halloween season 🙂 I have been learning lines, baking muffins and working on my screenplay, in addition to a few pretty awesome developments. Friday night, I had stunt class, with a big deal stunt coordinator joining in. The ‘warm up’ before class seemed to last forever and my body was screaming out in agony and protest, but the class itself more than made up for it. Most of the class got everything pretty quickly, so the few of us who were a little slower got to have the expert supervision and advice of the stunt coordinator. I got to do cartwheels and handstands, parcours and…

New Traditions <3
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who liked our video for the contest. It doesn’t close until October 31st, so if we can keep sharing and getting people to vote, that would be amazing! Last Friday I made it to stunt class 🙂 I still spend my week kind of terrified and dreading it, but then when I get there, it really isn’t that bad. I learn cool things and have a lot of fun. We did kicks and jumps and falls. I really like how this session, we are going slow and the teachers take the time to make sure we get it. I spent the…

That’s a Wrap :)
I am now back home, after the bittersweet wrap of my character in the movie. It is really good to be home, and to get back to the hustle, but I definitely miss getting up every day and acting. Last Saturday I had the Tom Todoroff workshop. Emilie and I practiced extensively on Friday, putting so much effort into the blocking and using everything Tom has ever told me or anyone else at a workshop. Every movement had to be motivated, the scene had to go somewhere, we had to remember the time period…It was a lot of fun and we got there on Saturday, me with Carolyne and her…

Lost and Found: Opportunities
There have been a lot of really interesting developments since I last posted, though by now most of them haven’t panned out, so I am being cautiously optimistic about the last one. It all started while I was on my way to acting class with Suzanna. I got a call from a casting agency asking if I was still available for a role (as an extra) that I had applied for over a month ago. It was supposed to be an ACTRA part, so I was so excited that I got it, and couldn’t keep the smile off my face as she told me that wardrobe would be calling. The…

My first Award Show
I had a nice, busy weekend, followed by a relatively relaxing Monday. On Friday I was lucky enough to be an extra with some friends, and also got to make some new ones. It was a much smaller set than the one I have been on recently, so the crew ate with the extras, and there were a lot less people. I thoroughly enjoyed the call time of nearly noon, compared to the 3-4 a.m. I had gotten used to. I didn’t really enjoy driving home with the bridge closed due to fireworks, but all considered it was a very fun day! On Saturday, I had Day 1 of…

Auditions and Monologues
Summer has begun, and I now have a closet full of pretty dresses and shorts and summer clothes to wear! This seems silly to mention, but since I was 11, I worked at a campground, which meant that I spent the majority of my summer wearing a uniform, savoring the few precious days that I could actually wear normal clothes. Now that I quit my job, I can wear summer dresses every day! Which is exciting, but also terrifying, because having no job means I have no income. Which is probably why I have a love and hate relationship with my trip to the states last weekend. I had an…

Sunshine and Someday :)
I realize that the weather has been a prominent factor in my last few posts, and with good reason. On Wednesday, I was out for a walk with my family when I found out that I would be spending the next few days on set. Wardrobe asked that we dress for early spring, with lots of layers, so after lots of deliberations and hunting for lost shoes, my mom and I came out with a really cute outfit that would keep me warm if it were early spring, but that had enough layers that I could ‘strip down’ to a summery dress between takes if it got too hot. I…

The Waiting Game
So much has happened in the past few weeks, including my final day at the job I have held since I was 11, which has lost me my primary method of differentiating through the days. The more I dedicate my life to acting, the more I realize it is impossible to plan ahead. Auditions come up at the last minute, people get called to set the night before, shoot dates change because of the weather…it is all very exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. On the 1st, which I now realize is forever ago and I should have posted earlier, we shot a few scenes for Tricaillin. One of…

Summer is Here!
The sun is shining and life is beautiful! There is something about the weather that makes everything seem happier and easier, although it also means another busy season of movies for Montreal has started without me, but I digress. Wednesday night, I got my first taste of the Actor’s Fight Club. It is supposed to be a place where actors meet to work on auditions or lines or simply come to act. The rules aren’t quite the same as in the movie Fight Club, as it is an entirely different concept, but the first rule, “Leave your ego at the door”, is repeated multiple times in the list. This particular…
