6 Weeks Until the New Year!
I have always found it odd that as soon as Halloween is over, we jump right into Christmas. Normally, the transition comes more gradually for me; I count down until my final exam, and then it becomes all about Christmas. We finally have a little trailer for Dark Shack, the movie I shot in Quebec at the beginning of September! New Traditions <3
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who liked our video for the contest. It doesn’t close until October 31st, so if we can keep sharing and getting people to vote, that would be amazing! Last Friday I made it to stunt class 🙂 I still spend my week kind of terrified and dreading it, but then when I get there, it really isn’t that bad. I learn cool things and have a lot of fun. Cold Reads and Auditions
Hey everyone! I was waiting for some news to come in before posting, and it wasn’t what I was hoping for, but there are different ways to look at things, and I choose to focus on the positive. Last week I spent an entire afternoon just talking with Carolyne about our plans, our progress, our hopes, our dreams. Stunts, Meetings and Sets
Last Friday was a pretty exciting and scary day for me. The afternoon was mostly interesting, since I got another case to portray at the McGill simulation center. I had a much more elaborate backstory, with boyfriends and occupations and it was slightly stressful, but so much fun also. I am really enjoying the time before we start the scenarios, when all of the fake patients hang out in a room and talk. Lost and Found: Opportunities
There have been a lot of really interesting developments since I last posted, though by now most of them haven’t panned out, so I am being cautiously optimistic about the last one. Wraps, Trailers and Acting Income
Last week after posting here, I received my first cheque representing acting income (at least since deciding to make acting my full-time career). It wasn’t a huge amount, and I would have gotten paid more for working at my previous job, even before the promotion, but it was validation. Not to mention that my mom pointed out that i would rather work for free on movie sets than for 40 000 a year at my old job. Summer is Here!
The sun is shining and life is beautiful! There is something about the weather that makes everything seem happier and easier, although it also means another busy season of movies for Montreal has started without me, but I digress. Wednesday night, I got my first taste of the Actor’s Fight Club. It is supposed to be a place where actors meet to work on auditions or lines or simply come to act. Two for Two!
Now that I am back home and still pursuing acting over a more stable career, I am getting slightly stressed out about not doing enough, which leads to me making a lot of lists and feeling like I have an overwhelming amount of things to do.
