A Nice Long Weekend

I had planned to get a lot of work done this weekend, but then the weather was nice. Like, really, really nice. So instead, I did a little bit of everything and had a wonderful time 🙂

On Saturday, we went for a bike ride to Old Beloeil, where we ate at Brasseurs du Moulin, a new microbrasserie.  We all shared the meat lover’s pizza, nachos and caesar salad. All were delicious, but I am not sure about leeks in my nachos…My mom usually hates eating outside, because of the bugs, but we ate on the terrasse, with the mountain and the river in the background. It was a great way to spend an afternoon!

Sunday was spent running errands before a meeting with Carlos, the director for the Diablo short we will be filming this summer. We actually didn’t spend all that much time working on my character, since we have had a couple of rehearsals already and I really feel like I understand her. I get her innocence and naivety, and every time he asked me a question, it was pretty easy to figure out what she was thinking or how she felt in that given circumstance. That isn’t to say we had a short meeting, because we did get to talk about a lot of other things. Like movies or actors that made us want to do what we do, my favorite parts of my semester in London, our other acting experiences…I absolutely love talking shop 😉
Sunday night, after a family supper at my grandparents’, my parents and I drove to Lake George for a quick getaway. It was a beautiful day, so I would often wander outside rather than wait in the air conditioned room, but I still managed to overfulfill my goal for the trip. I needed to find an outfit to wear to next Sunday’s Brunch in the City, and I came home with 3 options. Not to mention the white dress I tried on over a year ago and have been trying to find ever since.
It was an exciting weekend with everything that I love: family, acting, traveling and enjoying the outdoors 🙂

“The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us.”
