Not So Networking
Business is winding down as the holidays are approaching, but some eager beavers are already thinking of the year to come, while others celebrate the end of the season, so I still had a lot going on this week. Monday morning I had an agent meeting in Toronto, which was really awesome, whether I get signed with them or not, because in addition to asking me questions and having me share why I could be an awesome member of their team, she also went through my resume with me, giving advice on what should stay and what should go, what classes I am missing, what casting directors are looking for…

The Last Week
Some very interesting things have happened in the few weeks since I last posted. Chronologically, I will start with the last class of the month at Suzanna’s; audition class. We spent the first few minutes discussing how I went from being in class indefinitely, to “I’m moving to Toronto in December.” Suzanna wasn’t ready to lose me to Toronto, and to be honest it didn’t seem real to me yet either. I was apartment hunting and figuring out budgets and finding all kinds of potential roommates, but it still felt like something that wasn’t really going to happen. An old friend from class came in unexpectedly, which was really nice,…

A Nice Long Weekend
I had planned to get a lot of work done this weekend, but then the weather was nice. Like, really, really nice. So instead, I did a little bit of everything and had a wonderful time 🙂 On Saturday, we went for a bike ride to Old Beloeil, where we ate at Brasseurs du Moulin, a new microbrasserie. We all shared the meat lover’s pizza, nachos and caesar salad. All were delicious, but I am not sure about leeks in my nachos…My mom usually hates eating outside, because of the bugs, but we ate on the terrasse, with the mountain and the river in the background. It was a great…

Tea at Sketch
Chelsea was in town this weekend, and she was a little jealous of all of the amazing teas I have been going to, so on Saturday we decided to go to Sketch. You can reserve for tea in the Gallery, which is the pink room, but I believe it fills up pretty quickly. Luckily, they do not take reservations for the Parlour, nor for the Glade. The doorman said it would be at least a 40 minute wait when we got there, and he suggested we come back, so we went to check out Liberty, then came back and were seated after a short stint at the bar. Now, we…

Afternoon Tea at the Ritz
While my parents were in town last week, we decided to do Afternoon Tea in style. I don’t just mean because the Ritz is a pretty fancy place; they also have a dress code. No one can wear sneakers, and men are expected to wear a jacket and a tie. Which meant a quick shopping trip before making it to our reservation. Once there, I did ask, and the cloakroom is used to lending out ties, jackets and shoes to people who don’t fit the dress code. So don’t worry, they won’t turn you away 🙂 We were let in a little early, and got to choosing our teas. My…

Holiday Suppers
Every year, my grandparents throw two themed Christmas Dinner Parties. One for my grandfather’s family, and one for my grandmother’s. For the past few years, me and my cousins have been allowed to join in, helping our mothers prepare everything, serve on the night of, and clean up afterwards. We are also supplied with costumes, which is why I have posted pictures of us in Scottish outfits, as well as dressed as Disney princesses. This year, we decided to do an Irish Pub Theme. And while everyone will tell you I have absolutely no decorating skills, for some reason, I ended up doing a lot more than ever before. For…

I Made A Blanket!
So, if you have read my post on 30 things I want to do before I’m 30, you know that one of the things on the list is knitting a baby’s blanket. Ideally, I would like to knit a blanket every time someone I really care about is having a baby. I would then give them the blanket once the baby is born. I am a little bit late on this one, since I started after she was born, and gave it to her at her 1st birthday party. Still, it is a check off my 30 by 30 list 🙂 As you can see in the picture above, I…

Sets and Scenes
Sometimes, I feel like absolutely nothing is going on for me career-wise, and then I look at my schedule and realize I have something every single day. That is what has happened to me since my last post. If this trend could keep up for the rest of the summer, and my life, that would be amazing 🙂 I spent two days on a French production pretending to be a high school student, which showed me that no matter how young people (including myself) still think I am, I am way older than actual high school students. Not that I have all the answers or have all these life experiences,…

Night shoots
This past week I have done lots, but also a bit of nothing. As in I have constantly been doing things, but not crossing anything off of my list of things to do. My week started off with some night shoots. I got to be a reporter, which I really enjoyed. Not because I actually did anything different from the other extras, but I got to stand right at the front, and actually got to hear what the actors were saying. This includes their lines, while they were rehearsing, and their banter between takes as well. It was really interesting to see how differently the actors will do the scene…

On Set Yoga
Once I had shared my 30 by 30 list with my father, he handed me a flyer for a blood drive at our local mall that started last Wednesday. Wasting no time, we headed over so I could sign up, get my pin, answer all of the nurse’s questions, and then fail when it got to the blood test. Apparently, my iron level is really low, so they won’t let me give blood. Instead, the nurse gave me a flyer with a list of foods I should be eating more of in order to increase my iron. So, still have 30 left to do, and Iron Man I am not.…
